Permanent makeup can be life-changing — saving time, boosting confidence, and creating low-maintenance beauty that lasts. But it’s not for everyone, and results vary based on skin type, lifestyle, and overall health.
Here’s how to know if PMU is the right choice for you.
You have healthy, balanced skin (not too oily, thin, or sensitive)
You’re not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
You’re not on medications that thin the blood or affect healing
You’re okay with a healing process that involves peeling, fading, and touch-ups
You want to enhance your features without doing full glam makeup every day
You understand PMU is semi-permanent, not permanent — it will fade over time (exception of eyeliner lash enhancement)
You have excessively oily or textured skin (especially for brow hair strokes — better suited for powder/ombré brows)
You have active eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the treatment area
You’re prone to keloid scarring or have extremely sensitive skin
You have had recent cosmetic treatments (lasers, chemical peels, Botox) too close to your appointment
You’re not comfortable with some fading, asymmetry, or needing a touch-up
You expect it to replace your entire makeup routine (PMU is more natural, not full glam)
PMU may not be recommended (or will require a doctor’s note) if you:
Are on blood thinners, Accutane, steroids, or chemo
Have uncontrolled diabetes or autoimmune conditions
Have had recent surgeries or are undergoing medical treatments that impair healing
Always disclose any medical concerns or medications during booking or consult.
If you have ever had a cold sore, you must take antiviral medication before and after your appointment to prevent an outbreak.
Lip blush heals beautifully — but requires extra care during healing to avoid dryness, cracking, or pigment loss.
Lash serums like Latisse must be stopped at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
You must not have any eye infections, recent eye surgery, or use of lash extensions during healing.
PMU is ideal for people who are:
Tired of spending 20+ minutes every morning doing brows, eyeliner, or lips
Struggling with symmetry or sparse areas
Active, on-the-go, or low-maintenance and want to wake up looking put together
Wanting to feel confident without needing a full face of makeup
Dealing with shaky hands, poor vision, or health conditions that make applying makeup difficult
Wanting to simplify their beauty routine without sacrificing how they look
Want to effortlessly swim, get sweaty without losing your makeup
PMU isn’t about replacing your full makeup kit — it’s about saving time, feeling confident, and putting less effort into looking like yourself.
If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and thought “Ugh, I don’t want to do this again today,” then PMU might be exactly what you need.
Most clients — especially those who get their brows done — say the same thing afterward:
“Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
No pressure — not everyone is a perfect candidate, and that’s okay. If you’re not sure whether PMU is right for you, book a consultation and we’ll walk through your goals, skin type, lifestyle, and expectations together.
It’s not about selling you on something. It’s about making sure you’ll love your results — safely and realistically.
