Lash lifts and brow lamination may seem simple, but they’re chemical services that need proper training, timing, and care. Overprocessed lashes or brows can lead to breakage, bald spots, dryness, or long-term damage — and unfortunately, we see it more often than we should.
Here’s how to choose a safe, experienced tech — and why doing so matters.
Not all solutions are created equal. A professional tech should use high-quality, safe formulas that are gentle on the hair and skin. Some use keratin-infused or conditioning systems to help strengthen and protect the hair during processing.
We use a UK formulated brand that is cysteamine-based. This type of forumla is designed to be a gentler solution opposed to alternatives that use harsh chemicals like ammonium thioglycolate. Cysteamine is an amino acid derivative that is used to soften the hair, allowing for reshaping during the lifting process.
Each client’s hair texture and density are different. A proper lift or lamination service should be timed specifically for your hair type — not a one-size-fits-all timer. Overprocessing can cause lashes or brows to become dry, frizzy, or brittle, and in some cases, stop growing in temporarily. Each product works differently as well so trust that your tech is using the proper timing recommended by the brand they use.
A responsible tech will never book you for another lift or lam within 6–8 weeks, even if you want a boost sooner. The hair needs time to recover between chemical services.
If a tech is willing to reprocess your lashes or brows too soon, they’re risking long-term damage — and you deserve better.
You may, however, get a tint refresher in between if needed.
A trained professional cares about your results and your hair health — and won’t be afraid to tell you “not yet” if you’re not ready for another session. If your brows or lashes are too weak, still healing, or have been previously overprocessed, a responsible tech will hold off.
Even though lash lifts and brow lamination are non-invasive, tools should still be cleaned between clients, wands should be single-use, and everything should be done with sanitary protocols in place.

Lash lifts and brow lamination should enhance your natural features — not damage them. When done right, they’re low-maintenance, safe, and beautiful.
At Kriya Beauty, we always prioritize the integrity of your lashes and brows, use safe professional products, and space your appointments appropriately. We’d rather take a conservative approach than push too far — because healthy hair gives better results every time.
